The General English programme offered at the University of Waikato College, is for students who want to improve their everyday English skills. You can study General English for a minimum of three weeks and for as long as up to six months.
Upon successful completion, you can progress to the Academic English programme at the University of Waikato College.
Fees, Dates & Duration
Study for a minimum of three weeks to six months. Current promotion pay for four weeks and get the fifth week free.
- Full-time (23 hours per week) - $500 per week
- Part-time (15 hours per week) - $380 per week
Intakes are every second Monday for on-campus enrolments.

Course Requirements
Classes are offered from elementary to advanced levels. You will complete an initial placement test to assess your entry level, and thereafter you have the option of further testing to move up the levels.
The average class size is 13 and will not exceed 22 students.
You also have the option of attending English Club, play table tennis and attend afternoon sports.
Entry requirements
No minimal level of English language or academic criteria is required.
